Vigneron Independent Australia Participation Form
Overview
Vigneron Independent Australia is an initiative established to assist consumers in identifying and engaging with independent, wholly family-owned and operated vineyards, and the wines produced solely from these estates.
Eligibility to display the Vigneron Independent Australia logo is restricted to wines that are:
- Produced exclusively from 100% estate-grown grapes; and
- Clearly identified and marketed as single-vineyard wines.
Charter of Principles
All participants are self-governed and are required to commit to the following principles, which form the basis of the Vigneron Independent Australia Charter.
- Respect their terroir
- Work their vineyard
- Harvest their grapes
- Vinify and mature their wine
- Bottle their wines
- Market their products
- Strive for perfection while honouring tradition
- Being open and transparent about their products.
- Support their local community
- Welcome and encourage tastings, taking pride in presenting the fruits of their labour
Participant Declaration
Prior to proceeding with an application, prospective participants are required to evaluate their adherence to the Charter by considering the following:
- “Do I uphold the principles of the Vigneron Independent Australia Charter, and am I able to provide reasonable justification for my compliance if questioned by a consumer?”
- Should any uncertainty exist regarding your compliance with these principles, it is advised not to proceed with the application. Participants are reminded that Australian consumer law prohibits false or misleading representations, and non-compliance may result in legal consequences.
